Are Sun Zapper Products Reef Friendly & Coral Safe?

Sun Zapper Sunscreen Lotions and Tinted Moisturisers don’t contain Oxybenzone or Octinoxate which studies have shown to be harmful to reefs and coral.

Are Sun Zapper Products Mineral (Physical) Sunscreens?

Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide are naturally occurring minerals present in Mineral Sunscreens which protect you from the sun by sitting on top of the skin and physically blocking harmful rays. Our Sunscreen Lotions and Zinc Sticks both contain Zinc Oxide. Tinted Moisturisers and some Zinc Sticks contain Titanium Dioxide.

Is packaging recyclable?

Yes our Cardboard packs are recyclable. Our Zinc Stick barrels and caps are also recyclable, please thoroughly clean and remove any product inside the barrel.

What is SPF?

SPF also known as Sun Protection Factor, measures how well a sunscreen will protect skin from UVB rays. UVB rays cause sunburns and damages skin.

SPF 50+ blocks 98% of UVB rays. For best protection you need to apply sufficient sunscreen, as under-applying is a common mistake. We recommend for an average adult a minimum of 35mL is applied, and remember to re-apply at least every 2 hours, and always after swimming, towelling or exercising.

What is Broadspectrum and UVA+UVB?

Broad Spectrum means protection from both UVA and UVB sun rays. UVA rays have longer wavelength, penetrating deeply and are associated with skin aging. UVB rays have shorter wavelength and are associated with skin burning. Our Sunscreen Lotions and Zinc Sticks are SPF 50+ Broad Spectrum protection from UVA+UVB rays.

Are Sun Zapper products Water Resistant?

Our Sunscreen Lotions and Zinc Sticks are Water Resistant for up to 4 hours. If you swim, sweat or towel off remember to re-apply every 2 hours.

Are Sun Zapper products Paraben free?

Yes our Sunscreen Lotions and Zinc Sticks are Paraben Free.

Are Sun Zapper products Cruelty Free?

Yes our products are Cruelty Free and not tested on animals.

Is is safe to use Sun Zapper products during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

We do not use Oxybenzone in our Sunscreen Lotions, Zinc Sticks or Tinted Moisturisers, so they are safe to use. Consulate your doctor if unsure.

What age can I start applying sunscreen to my baby?

TGA recommends sunscreen be applied to babies from 6 months old. It is also recommended to always wear protective clothing, hats and eyewear when exposed to the sun.

When do Sun Zapper products expire?

The Therapeutic Goods Administration in Australia (TGA) restricts sunscreen products to have an expiry date 3 years from date of manufacture, and Sun Zapper products adhere to these TGA regulations. Expiry dates are stated on the product label.

Do Sun Zapper products adhere to all TGA regulations?

Yes, all our products undergo rigorous testing and meet all TGA regulations and are appropriately labelled.
